The Howden Melrose Sevens is proud to celebrate its ongoing partnership with GoFibre, the independent Scottish broadband provider, as the company enters its third year as the event’s Platinum Communications Partner. Since signing a three-year sponsorship agreement in 2022, GoFibre has played a vital role in supporting grassroots rugby at the Melrose Sevens tournament and in the Scottish Borders.
Taking place from Thursday, 22nd May to Sunday, 25th May 2025, the Howden Melrose Sevens will once again benefit from GoFibre’s continued investment. A key supporter of youth rugby development, GoFibre sponsors the tournament’s Friday youth festivities, which feature the Borders Under-16s and Under-18s competitions – offering young players an invaluable opportunity to compete in a high-profile setting.
Beyond the pitch, GoFibre is also the official sponsor of the event’s Family Food Village, creating a vibrant and welcoming space for fans to enjoy throughout the four-day festival. Its commitment extends even further, with the company gifting a full-fibre technology upgrade to Melrose Rugby Club’s clubhouse. This transformation has significantly improved connectivity, helping future-proof the club’s facilities and enhancing its ability to host major sporting and community events.
To celebrate the third year of its sponsorship of the Howden Melrose Sevens as Platinum Communications Partner, independent broadband provider GoFibre is teaming up with the Howden Melrose Sevens tournament to offer 10 free tickets to the event to a local community group.
The offer is open to members and volunteers in groups or charities based in or near Melrose that have a social purpose, in keeping with GoFibre’s commitment to creating community benefit. Examples of groups that could benefit include a grassroots sports club, a social or support group designed for a particular group of people in the community, or a children’s organisation. The tickets will grant access to the Howden Melrose Sevens on Saturday 24th May. Lucky winners will also receive a voucher towards refreshments on site.
To apply, simply visit the GoFibre website and register your details, by Wednesday 30th April, at www.gofibre.co.uk/melrose-sevens-tournament-free-rugby-tickets
